AMD Build:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Windsor 3.2GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor- $209.99

ASUS CROSSHAIR AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard- $234.99

(BUY TWO OF THESE PACKAGES WHILE SUPPLIES LAST) Patriot Extreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory- $46.99 after rebate a piece

Total... $538.96 before any taxes and shipping... This means you could look into a flat screen for $200, a hard drive, or anything really.

Intel Build:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80562Q6600- $279.99

ASUS P5K3 DELUXE/WIFI-AP LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard- $239.99

CORSAIR 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory- $303.00

Total... $822.98 little over and not including shipping and tax. This is only with 2GB whereas my AMD build has 4GB... but the processor will beat down the AMD build 2x over. Perhaps a cheaper motherboard could constitute for this build, but DDR3 is hella hard to come by cheap.

Well 4gb of ram is overly unnecessary I believe... fact being... its gonna be like 250 dollars to get that much ram and what do you need it for? I mean really....

Processor is awesome, good luck with the motherboard... intel chipsets suck my left nut

Go Asus Go!!!
